Loan Periods & Limits

( These policies are applicable to circulating materials in most libraries on campus. They are not necessarily true for all libraries on campus.)

WVU Student Loan Periods

• Books
  Undergrads: 4 weeks (up to 30 items)
  Graduates: 1 semester (up to 100 items)
  

• Bound Journals
  1 day

• Unbound Journals
  Overnight - Graduates Only
  In Library Use Only - Undergraduates and graduates

• Book Renewals
  Undergraduate students must renew materials in person or online.
  Graduate students may renew materials online, in person or by mail.

WVU Faculty and Staff Loan Periods

• Books
  Faculty & Staff - 1 semester - (up to 100 items)
  

• Bound Journals
  1 day

• Unbound Journals
  2 hours and overnight

• Book Renewals
  Faculty may renew books in person, online, or by mail at the end of each semester. Books must be physically returned for renewal at least once a year.

• In special circumstances, a Circulation Librarian may grant a Faculty Research Waiver so that mail renewals can be substituted for annual physical renewal of materials. Please contact the Circulation Librarian at the lending library for a research waiver application.
