| Description: | This collection is treated as a course reserve for WVU faculty and students and is password protected. The collection consists of images of architecture, drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, mixed media, etc. from pre-historic times to the present, and represents countries and cultures worldwide. The collection also contains maps and diagrams, as well as floor plans related to architectural sites. | |
| Content: | There are currently almost 12,000 images in the collection. A large portion of the database content is derived from copyright-protected sources such as commercial slides and art books. 2,259 images were purchased from Saskia. The remaining images are digitized from the Division of Art slide collection. There are two or three thousand slides still to be added from the Division of Art’s collection. In future, the majority of additions to the collection will come from Internet websites and scans from books. |
